TRAVEL INFORMATION:

Rijeka is the crossroads of land and sea routes connected with the rest of the world by air, bus, train and ship lines.

ARRIVAL BY BUS
Scheduled bus lines connect Rijeka with bigger Croatian and European cities. The bus terminal is in the city centre, Žabica. All information on timetable and fares can be obtained at the Autotrans agency, Žabica 1 or by telephone 060 / 30-20-10. If you have to change buses or you have time for sightseeing, you can leave your luggage in the left-luggage department, which is next to the newspaper and cigarette stand, open from 5:30 am till 10:30 pm. Luggage safekeeping is charged 11 kn.

ARRIVAL BY BOAT
Passenger terminal is in the city centre. Sea routes provide connection between towns along the Croatian coast but also with Greece, Italy and Albania. All information on sailing time-table and services are available at Jadrolinija shipping-agency, Riva 6, which is near the port or by telephone: 211-444. Harbour Master’s Office (HMO) is situated on the quay, Senjsko pristanište 3, tel. 214-031.

ARRIVAL BY AIR

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN
The Railway station is in Krešimirova Street 5. Information on rail services is available on the info counter or by info telephone 060/333-4444. Tickets can be obtained and reservations made at the station ticket-office tel. 211-638. The railway station has a leftluggage department, opening hours from 0:00 am to 24:00 pm. Luggage safekeeping is charged 15 kn per day.

ARRIVAL BY CAR
We recommend the two largest car parks in the town centre: Delta and passenger terminal. There is no set time limit and charges can be paid on departure. Price for one parking hour is 4 kn (for 3 successive hours), and 7 kn for longer than a 4 hour-stay.

TOW TRUCK
Be careful how and where you park. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed away and left at the car pound BRAJDICA, in the area below the “eastern” town exit, behind the “Brodokomerc” storehouse. An entrance to the car pound can also be found on A.K. Miošića Street. The car pound telephone number is 051-377-340. The tow truck service working hours are from 07:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, and on Saturdays from 07:00 to 14:00. Sundays are nonworking.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Rijeka’s public transportation includes town (1st zone) and suburb (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th zone) bus lines. The bus ticket can be bought at the tobacconist’s and is valid for two fares. You validate the ticket by inserting it in the ticket machine when you get on the bus. A one-way ticket at a somewhat higher price can be bought from the bus driver on the bus. Public transport operates from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm every 15 minutes.

TAXI
In the centre of the town there are three taxi terminals, at the Bus station, tel. 335-138; in the Matije Gupca Street, tel. 335-417, at the railway station, tel. 332-893 and there is also a taxi van available.

The prices are:
I zone (up to 5 km) - 30,00 Kuna
II zone (up to 8 km) - 40,00 Kuna
III zone (up to 11 km) - 50,00 Kuna
IV zone (up to 14 km) - 60,00 Kuna

Every further km is 7 kn. An hour’s delay will cost 60 kn. For long rides arrange price in advance.
